DETROIT - Combining a versatile, maneuverable, and efficient package; this week Buick finally introduced the all-new 2013 Encore following months of anticipation among car enthusiasts everywhere.Up until this week, details of the new luxury small crossover had been scarce. With the North American International Auto Show in Detroit just around the corner, officials at Buick have made the decision to unveil the Encore at the show on Jan. 22. The vehicle is set to go on sale in early 2013.
"The Buick Encore is a great-looking, smart choice for those who want luxury crossover amenities in a more maneuverable and agile vehicle," said Tony DiSalle, U.S. vice president of Buick Marketing. "It represents a luxury alternative for a new audience of Buick customers, and delivers features and flexibility not typically found in vehicles of its size today."
The Encore isn't the only Buick model being talked about. For the past two years, Buick has seen an increase in retail sales as a number of models continue to grab consumers' attention. The Encore comes at the heels of the Verano, Buick's third sedan in three years, and continues to help bolster the same excitement the Enclave brought to the table when it was released nearly five years ago.
The engine in the Encore is an efficient, power-dense Ecotec 1.4L turbocharged four-cylinder engine, with six-speed automatic transmission. It can generate an estimated 140 horsepower (103 kW) and 148 lb.-ft. of torque (200 Nm) between 1,850 rpm and 4,900 rpm. When it comes to the wide rpm range from the maximum torque.
