The 2017 GMC Acadia Changes
There will be a number of 2017 GMC Acadia changes, as the automaker prepares an aggressive refresh of the popular crossover, including:
- Exterior – The new Acadia will sport a new distinctive grille design and wrap-around headlamps for 2017. New 17-, 18-, and 20-inch wheel options with be available, as will halogen fog lamps for superior visibility. The Denali trim will now feature a new hands-free power liftgate.
- Interior – A more streamlined interior will include access to soft-touch materials and French-stitched seats, aluminum trim, and 4-way adjustable front head restraints. Rear passengers will enjoy easier access to the third row and a new, innovative pull-out 2nd-row console.
- Technology – Updates to the in-dash infotainment system will give drivers access to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as keyless entry and start. The Denali will offer the option of an 8-inch customizable driver display as well.
- Safety – The new Acadia will offer an optional Surround Vision Camera that uses four cameras to provide a 360-degree composite view of the area surrounding the vehicle. GMC will also include access to options like Front Park Assist, Pedestrian Detection, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Automatic Intellibeam headlights.
- Performance – The 2017 Acadia will include a fuel-efficient 4-cylinder engine and 6-speed automatic transmission that will be capable of an estimated 28 mpg/highway fuel economy. The 3.6L V6 upgrade will now be able to produce an estimated 310 hp.
Similarities to the 2016 Model
The 2017 Acadia will still offer drivers the Active Traction Control and spacious 5-passenger seating that they have come to appreciate, and features like automatic climate control, remote entry, a standard rearview camera with Rear Park Assist, Bluetooth hands-free calling and more safety and convenience options. The Acadia will also continue to deliver class-leading cargo capacity with cavernous storage behind the third row, as well as convenient underfloor storage behind the third row of seats to keep tools and equipment out of sight and free up room for parcels and gear.
The 2016 GMC Acadia Highlights
The 2016 GMC Acadia was already an impressive vehicle with features that include:
- Performance – The 2016 Acadia is equipped with a 3.6L V6 engine and 6-speed automatic transmission that are capable of creating 281 hp and 266 lb.-ft. of peak torque.
- Technology – Drivers can equip the Acadia with features like the IntelliLink infotainment system that delivers access to the optional Bose premium audio system, available navigation, SiriusXM satellite radio, and more.
- OnStar – The Acadia is equipped with OnStar which can provide roadside assistance, 4G LTE Wi-Fi connectivity for up to seven mobile devices, and Automatic Crash Response, which can contact EMS should the Acadia be involved in an accident, when properly equipped.
