Changes for the 2017 Buick Encore Redesign
The addition of more premium materials highlights Buick’s commitment to building a quality compact SUV. From the sculpted dash to the expanded rear cargo area, drivers can look forward to a cabin that is both more comfortable and more functional. Buick will also offer more luxurious options like contoured heated front seats, keyless access with remote and pushbutton start, and automatic climate control.
For information at a glance, the 2017 Buick Encore has a 4.2-inch diagonal Driver Information Center that provides data about speed, fuel efficiency, and other essential information. The new 8-inch diagonal color touchscreen interface for the Buick Intellilink infotainment system will allow quick access to options like internet radio and navigation, as well as smartphone apps via the new Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity features.
Changes to the exterior of the Encore will include a new grille and tri-colored insignia, as well as a more sculpted front fascia that blends seamlessly into the flowing hood and fender design for a head-turning look. New LED-accented lighting and sculptural lighting add a sense of elegance front and rear, while new wheel designs give drivers another way to personalize their Encore.
What Will Carry Over from 2016?
Buick maintains their dedication to safety with 10 standard airbags and the airbag passenger sensing system included on every trim level, as well as optional features like Side Blind Zone Alert, which uses sensors to monitor the areas to the side of the vehicle and alerts drivers to approaching obstacles they may not be able to see. Other features like Forward Collision Alert, Lane Departure Warning, and Rearview Camera with Rear Cross-traffic Alert are expected to carry over as well.
The 2016 Buick Encore Highlights
The 2016 Buick Encore has remained a popular choice thanks to a long list of attractive features, including:
- Performance – The Encore can be powered by either a 1.4L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that makes 138 hp, or a 1.4L turbocharged SIDI engine capable of 153 hp. Both are paired with the smooth-shifting 6-speed automatic transmission.
- Advanced Audio – The 6-speaker performance audio system comes standard, while drivers who want to make the most of Buick’s Quiettuning technology can upgrade to the Bose 7-speaker premium audio system with subwoofer and amplifier.
- OnStar – Properly equipped, the OnStar system provides access to roadside assistance, concierge services, acts as a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, and can even contact emergency personnel should you be involved in an accident via the Automatic Crash Response Feature.
