The 2017 Buick Regal changes are making their way to Troy and Dayton, and with this slight redesign, drivers will be seeing a vehicle that is lighter, more efficient, and provides more interior volume when it makes its debut later this year. Read on to get the specs, then stop into Dave Arbogast Buick GMC to see what else Buick may have in store for you.
Although it is still early in the calendar year, designers are looking ahead to the 2017 model year and are planning some significant, thought subtle, changes to the 2017 Buick Regal. Chief among these is a change of platform with the Regal changing in its current Epsilon II setup for the larger E2XX platform. This will provide the Regal with an additional 3.6 inches in length and further differentiate it from the similarly sized Verano. Engineers will be using lighter materials in the new platform as well, shaving several hundred pounds from the vehicle’s overall weight, which will likely improve performance, handling, and fuel economy, though Buick hasn’t released those numbers to us yet.
Buick has also announced that it intends to replace the current 2.4L 4-cylinder engine with the new 1.5L inline 4-cylinder turbocharged motor. While numbers aren’t available yet, this engine will likely prove a more efficient choice for the sedan.
There have been no plans announced to change the Regal’s various selling points, so it is likely that drivers will still be able to take full advantage of comfort and convenience amenities like standard Bluetooth hands-free calling and audio streaming with the Buick Intellilink system. Other features like standard 8-way power adjustable heated driver’s seat with 2-way power lumbar support, optional Bose 9-speaker audio system, and the available E-Z key passive entry system with pushbutton start and auto-lock feature are expected to carry over to the new model as well.
There are still plenty of reasons why a 2016 Buick Regal might be a great choice for your daily commute:
