When do I need to replace my tires?
Checking to see if your tires need replacing is something that should be done on a regular basis. Dave Arbogast Service inspects your vehicles tires each visit. How often your tires will need replacing is a matter of several factors; how you drive, how well you maintain your vehicle, and even the load on those tires. A sure way to know if your tires need replacing is to check the tread wear indicators. Almost all tires have built-in indicators, or ‘wear bars’, that are no more than thin strips of rubber that run across the tread. As the tread wears away, the indicators become visible. If you can see three or more tread wear indicators it is time to change the tire. Other signs that point to the need for a replacement are fabric or cord showing through the rubber, snags in the sidewall deep enough to see fibers, and of course bulges, splits, and punctures that can’t be fixed by normal methods.
