2011 Buick Regal Receives Top Safety Recognition
The new Buick Regal can now add another accolade to its long list of achievements. fThe Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has named the 2011 Buick Regal a “2010 Top Safety Pick” among large cars or performance in front, side, rollover, rear, and electronic stability control tests. Dave Arbogast Buick invites Ohio shoppers to test drive the new 2011 Buick Regal available now at our dealership.
According to an IIHS press release, the Buick Regal is the seventh General Motors vehicle to earn the prestigious rating since the IIHS began a new roof strength test for rollover crashes. “In this test, a metal plate is pushed against one corner of a vehicle’s roof at a constant speed,” the IIHS explains. The maximum force sustained by the roof before 5 inches of crush is compared to the vehicle’s weight to find the strength-to-weight ratio. The roof of the Regal withstood a force equal to nearly 5 times the car’s weight. For comparison, the current federal standard is 1.5 times weight.
The 2011 Buick Regal is a great car for safety, but also has some great interior options for the driver’s comfort. It comes with standard 12-way power, leather and heated driver and passenger front seats, Bluetooth phone capability, available navigation system, Hardman Kardon sound system, iPod auxiliary jack and USB port, XM Satellite Radio, and OnStar.
