2012 Buick Verano

DETROIT – To the joy of Buick fanatics, the brand has introduced its first vehicle when it comes to the compact luxury segment.

At this week’s Detroit Auto Show, Buick will unveil its 2012 Verano. It is the brand’s third new model in the past two years.

The vehicle is set to go on sale during the fourth quarter of 2011. The 2012 Buick Verano is the most recent model in what has proven to be a product revitalization which includes other popular models such as the Enclave, LaCrosse and Regal. Like its brother and sisters, the Verano is a combination of both luxury and technology.

The Verano includes 10 standard air bags, the option of a heated steering wheel and a next-generation radio system which OnStar-powered connectivity which will foster unspoiled communication between the vehicle and a driver’s smart phone.

With an Ecotec 2.4L and six-speed automatic powertrain combination which comes standard, the vehicle delivers an estimated 177 horsepower (132kW) and 170 lb. foot torque (230 Nm), 0-60 mph performance and 8.0 seconds and an estimated 31 mpg on the highway. Plans to release a 2.0L turbo engine in the future are also in the works.
