2013 Buick Regal Turbo Premium Review

Curious as to what sets the 2013 Buick Regal Turbo Premium apart from other models?

Buick’s Regal is a mid-size luxury performance sedan. In the Turbo Premium model, the standard 2.4 L engine is replaced by a more powerful turbocharged 2.0 L power plant that offers a maximum 220 hp. The Regal offers the turbo engine in three trim levels, Premium 1, 2, and 3. The top-of-the-line Regal GS also includes a turbocharged engine, although it is capable of 270 hp and 295 ft-lb of torque.

All 2013 Regal Turbo Premiums include substantial features. Buick’s Intellilink infotainment system is included. It offers Bluetooth with both Pandora and Stitcher integration. A USB/iPod audio interface is also standard, along with an auxiliary jack. Smartphone integration is also a part of the Intellilink system. A seven-inch touchscreen controls many functions, including the dual-zone climate control.

The three premium trim levels add additional features:

Premium 1 — includes rear parking sensors, remote start, and keyless ignition. The driver’s seat is a eight-way power adjustable model with full four-way lumbar support.

Premium 2 — includes xenon headlights and a nine-speaker surround-sound audio system from Harmon-Kardon. The Premium 2 includes rear seat side airbags as well.

Premium 3 — includes 19-inch wheels along with an advanced adaptive suspension. Buick’s innovative Interactive Drive Control is featured as well. It offers three separate levels of steering, throttle response, and suspension.

The Regal Turbo Premium comes standard with a six-speed automatic transmission, and a six-speed manual is an available option. With the automatic, the EPA highway rating is 29 mpg. With the turbo engine mated to the six-speed manual, the highway rating jumps to 32 mpg.

At the Premium 2 and Premium 3 levels, navigation and/or sunroof can be added if desired.

Beyond the Premium 3 lies the Regal GS. It comes standard with a six-speed manual mated to a 270 hp engine. The six-speed automatic is also available. The standard 19-inch alloys can be upgraded to 20-inch wheels that include summer performance tires.
