Buick Envision SafetyKeeping the trend intact, the 2017 Buick Envision AWD has scored five stars in vehicle crash testing. For two consecutive model years, every Buick model has achieved this important federal benchmark.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration hasn’t made it easy. Standards get tougher every year, and clearly the Envision is doing its part to make the grade. A good score affirms the Envision’s robust body structure. Mass-reducing high-strength steel keeps it intact, helping it withstand impact. The Envision’s ten airbags provide effective protection in the event of an accident. You won’t find that many airbags on most SUVs today.

Affirming the Envision’s safety record, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) named it a Top Safety Pick Plus. This designation encompasses all of its standard features as well as recognizing its outstanding front crash prevention. Like the NHTSA, the IIHS keeps making its standards tougher. The newest test was applied to the headlights. Keeping up with the changes, the Envision was recognized for the effectiveness of its high intensity discharge headlights.

Buick’s many crash avoidance systems are available to help the Envision driver stay out of trouble. With all of the technologies available, there can be three radar sensors, ten ultrasonic sensors, and five cameras covering the perimeter of the vehicle.

The available forward collision alert uses visual and audible signals to warn you that there’s trouble ahead. A following distance indicator also helps with maintaining the right gap between the Envision and leader traffic. With the safety alert seat, a vibration is added to get the driver’s attention. Failing the driver’s action, the available automatic braking system reacts to mitigate damage. At slow speeds it may prevent an accident all together. Buick drivers can utilize even more automation with available adaptive cruise control. This system can slow and go to match the immediate traffic pattern.

To prevent side swiping other cars, the available lane watch has an active steer assist to help tug the crossover into its lane. A blind spot monitor is activated when the driver uses a turn signal. The Surround Vision camera offers a bird’s eye view of the crossover’s perimeter. With all of these tools in your toolbox, it’s just easier to stay out of harm’s way.

For peace of mind, Buick drivers can take advantage of complimentary roadside assistance for up to six years. Furthermore, the OnStar system can be programmed for an automatic after-crash notification. A new feature allows parents to set parameters for independent teen drivers.

From the basics to the best technology available, the 2017 Buick Envision is ready to keep you safe.
