2017 GMC Terrain Nightfall Edition: Coming Fall 2016

SUV buyers who want to stand out from the crowd will find a lot to like in the 2017 GMC Terrain Nightfall Edition. The special edition SUV combines stunning good looks with some of the most innovative technology offered by GMC. The 2017 Terrain Nightfall Edition will be unveiled at the New York International Auto Show, but eager buyers wanting on of their own will have to wait until the fall.

The appearance of the Nightfall Special Edition is a combination of sophistication and edginess. The Nightfall’s impressive 18 inch machine faced aluminum wheels will likely be the first feature to catch the eye. They feature gleaming black spokes set off by polished accents and set the tone for the rest of the vehicle. While many premium SUVs are trimmed using bright chrome, GMC has decided to give the Nightfall Edition a more sinister look. Gloss black is the choice for accents including the luggage rails, outside mirrors and license plate surround, and the charcoal grill is also accented with gloss black trim. Terrain buyers opting for either the SLE-2 or SLT trim levels will be able to select the Nightfall Edition package in colors including Crimson Red Metallic, Graphite Gray Metallic and Summit White, but it is the Onyx Black that will likely prove most popular.

The Terrain was introduced by GMC in late 2009, and sales have increased every year since. Auto manufacturers often introduce special editions when popular models have been left largely unchanged for several years, and the Nightfall Edition follows this trend. While the Nightfall’s unique looks may draw buyers in, they will quickly discover that this special edition Terrain offers its owners the combination of versatility, durability and quality that GMC is known for.

Interior features of the Terrain Nightfall Edition include an IntelliLink seven inch color screen offering touch commands and available 4G LTE connectivity. The SUV also offers an optional Wi-Fi hotspot. Another standard feature is GMCs innovative MultiFlex rear seat featuring fore and aft travel adjustments of almost a full eight inches. This provides close to 64 cubic feet of cargo space with the rear seat folded flat. An optional power liftgate makes loading and unloading the cavernous Terrain a snap.

GMC has built a reputation for leadership in the field of safety, and the Terrain Nightfall Edition comes standard with six airbags and a rear camera. Optional safety features include a lane departure warning system, a blind zone alert, rear park assist, a forward collision alert and a rear cross-traffic warning.

The Terrain Nightfall Edition joins previous GMC special editions including the rugged Sierra All Terrain X and the premium Canyon Nightfall Edition, which were both unveiled in January. GMC hopes that their latest special edition will continue to attract the type of smart and style-conscious buyers that have made the Terrain such a resounding sales success.
