Available in the SLE, SLT and Denali editions, the 2017 GMC Yukon is a full-size SUV that can accommodate up to eight occupants. This family-friendly GMC can be equipped with the signature EcoTec3 V8 engines. Some notable technology features in the Yukon include the IntelliLink infotainment system with navigation, wireless charging pad and Wi-Fi.

Powertrain

The GMC Yukon’s 5.3 L EcoTec3 V8 engine is capable of generating 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque. In conditions that don’t require much power, the Active Fuel Management can deactivate up to four cylinders in order to conserve gasoline. A six-speed automatic transmission system is paired with the 5.3 L EcoTec3 engine. Another powertrain option in the GMC Yukon is the 6.2 L EcoTec3 V8 engine, which could whip out 420 hp and 360 lb-ft of torque. An eight-speed automatic transmission system is coupled with this powerful engine. Both of these patented engine blocks are compatible with 4×4 drive, which includes a transfer case with two speeds. The corrosion-resistant DURALIFE brake rotors and Hill Start Assist also boost the capabilities of this versatile GMC SUV.

Technology

The GMC Yukon’s 8-inch touch-screen IntelliLink system is at the driver’s fingertips. In addition to displaying 2-D and 3-D maps on GPS navigation software, this mobile-friendly multimedia console supports Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and Bluetooth. A wireless charging pad is also available to charge Qi-compatible smartphones. Five USB ports and an auxiliary jack provide additional options for connecting gadgets with the IntelliLink system. Additionally, AT&T powers the vehicle’s Wi-Fi network that sends strong signals for up to seven devices at once. The nine-speaker Bose sound system can be turned on to play music on HD Radio, SiriusXM Satellite Radio and AM/FM channels.

Interior

Up to eight people can sit on leather-appointed seats in the GMC Yukon. A tri-zone climate control system maintains desirable temperature settings in all three rows. Thanks to the triple-sealed doors and laminated windshields, ambient noise won’t be much of a factor in this luxurious GMC SUV. Some other premium amenities inside the Yukon include the power-adjustable pedals and electric rear window defogger. Additionally, the vehicle’s universal home remote can memorize three different codes for garage doors or gates.

Exterior

Crimson Red, Dark Sapphire Blue and Summit White are parts of the color palette for the GMC Yukon’s exterior paint options. Chrome is available for the vehicle’s 22-inch wheels, front grille insert and assist steps. Projection beam headlamps and front LED turn signals also add modern style and function.  This sophisticated lift gate can also be programmed to open to a desirable height. A power sunroof with a wind deflector is another convenient option in the GMC Yukon.
