Find Adventure With the 2018 Buick Regal TourX

The all-new 2018 Buick Regal TourX continues Buick’s success of recent years as its introduction broadens the brand’s lineup even further by making bold moves outside traditional vehicle segments. Providing rugged utility and upscale amenities, the Regal TourX has the drive dynamics of a car and the versatility of an SUV. Continuing the trend started by the Encore and the Cascada, the Regal TourX features Buick’s contemporary design and attainable luxury targeted toward drivers who have active lifestyles. The long, clean design lines will help cultivate Buick’s recent Eurocentric image.

Poised to make its debut this fall in Buick dealerships, the TourX will enter a vibrant market segment with passion and energy and if the brand’s recent history continues, the model will be a hot item. The new model is based heavily on the Opel Insignia Sports Tourer sold in Europe. The TourX is available only with a General Motors 2.0-liter turbocharged engine that provides plenty of power. With 250 hp and 295 pound-feet of torque, the TourX has a standard eight-speed automatic transmission and intelligent AWD with active twin-clutch for greater control. Advanced start/stop technology and all-wheel drive are also standard.

The TourX rides higher than the Regal Sportback counterpart. The new SUX will incorporate standard roof rail and a functional cargo area that epitomizes upscale utility and convenience. Along with the Sportback, which is a sports sedan with coupe-like design and five-door versatility, Buick will offer two new products that will expand opportunity for drivers in the mid-size market segment.

Handling is improved on the Regal Sportback, also offered on the LaCrosse and Envision, through Buick’s innovative system that uses two clutches at the rear wheels for smart torque distribution. This system allows drivers to rely less on braking to maintain performance and efficiency, a feature that will aid driving in snow and other inclement weather.

The TourX is 3.4 inches longer than the Regal Sportback and sports a confident side profile and roofline accent the runs the entire length of the roof and D-pillar. Standard LED daytime running lights flank the winged grille in front, while headlights are thinner and more sculptured to enhance the front end appearance.
