If spots are scarce at Lazy R, head on over to Stillwater Beach Campground, also located in nearby Bradford, OH. Go for a dip or see what you can reel in at the on-site four-acre lake, cool off in the swimming and wading pool, or explore the lake by paddleboat. Thirty minutes southwest in Brookeville, OH is the Dayton Tall Timbers Resort KOA. As an official Kampgrounds of America resort, Dayton Tall Timbers offers plenty to see and do within its enchanting forested grounds. All in a day’s work, you can relax in the heated pool, see what’s biting in the lake, mine for gems, and much, much more. Because it’s a KOA resort, you’ll find more luxurious lodging options, including deluxe cabins, full RV hookups, “glamping” tent sites, and traditional tent sites. Wi-Fi and cable TV are available on-site if you need to check in at work or occupy the kids when a rogue rainstorm passes through, and you’ll find plenty of delicious treats available at the snack bar.

Adventures on the Great Miami

You may already know of Adventures on the Great Miami for their canoeing, kayaking, and rafting adventures on the Great Miami River, but did you know they also have campsites available to reserve? Their sites are located 20 minutes south of Troy in Tipp City, OH. After spending the day on the river, you can unwind with friends around the campfire before retiring to your tent for the night. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can even rent a shoal tent – an inflatable floating raft with a secure tent on top that allows you to spend the night on the river, letting the gentle lapping of the water and chirping frogs lull you to sleep.
