Buick Brand Growing at Record Pace

“Wouldn’t you rather have a Buick?” was once a slogan of the American luxury car brand. And based on recent sales numbers, not only would customers rather have a Buick over other luxury car brands, they’ve been purchasing them in full force. It appears that buyers are doing their research on Buicks and liking what they find. The researchers at Kelley Blue Book recently named Buick “Best Value Luxury Brand” for the fourth consecutive year. Buick first received the award in 2013. According to sales data, Buick sold 675,964 cars through June 2016. This represents a 20.1 percent increase in sales over the same period in 2015.
Duncan Aldred, who is vice president of Buick Sales, Service and Marketing, says new products are continuing to hit Buick showrooms, which creates a perfect time for customers to drop in for a test drive. Those new models include the redesigned 2017 Buick LaCrosse, new 2017 Buick Envision crossover sport utility vehicle and recently debuted 2016 Buick Cascada convertible. Since the LaCrosse sedan was launched in 2009, Buick has sold 950,000 units globally. The redesigned 2017 LaCrosse will be launched globally in the second half of the sales year.
The 2017 Envision recently wrapped up its first full month of sales in the United States. In its first month, Buick sold 1,436 units amid limited inventory of the crossover sport utility vehicle. Buick will roll out a full launch of the 2017 Envision, which will offer customers every trim level model version, in the fall of 2016.
Cascada, which has a lower starting price than the Audi A3 convertible, has the interior space and engine power that makes it more of a competitor for the Audi A5 convertible. When it comes to sales numbers for the first half of 2016, the Cascada came out on top of both of the Audi models combined.
Despite limited inventory, the 2017 Envision has become the best-selling model internationally in Buick’s lineup. It’s followed by the Encore and LaCrosse.
The Buick Encore is the sales leader in the United States with 36,365 units sold so far in North America. Since it went on sale in 2013, the Encore has been a sales leader in every market Buick sales the model in. The compact crossover sport utility vehicle has surpassed a half-million units in sales.
In the Chinese market, Buick’s Excelle GT continues to be its best seller. All of this success has moved Buick up the sales ladder. The luxury car brand is now China’s fifth-largest passenger vehicle brand. In North America, Buick outsells the luxury competitors Acura, Infiniti and Lincoln.
