Buick Brand Sees Sales Increase for August 2012August 2012 was a great month for Buick in which sales reached an all time high since 2007.

Buick reported a 8 percent national sales jump compared to August 2011. However, city-by-city comparisons revealed higher sales increases over the same period last year. Dave Arbogast Buick experienced a 16 percent sales increase.

In addition to a jump in sales numbers, Buick also saw increases in customer lease contracts. Buick said that customer leasing jumped from 15 percent to 35 percent. Buick credits this jump to their “Experience Buick” leasing program, which was introduced March 2012.

The leasing program is a 24-month all inclusive lease that includes Sirius XM satellite radio, GM’s OnStar system and oil changes.

Buick executives said that their luxury vehicles, which are the recently introduced Verano entry-level sedan, Regal luxury sports sedan, LaCrosse luxury sedan, and Enclave luxury sport utility crossover, helped turn customers away from other luxury brands.

Although the Verano has only been on the market for nine months, it’s sales numbers have increased each month. The Regal GS had its best sales month since going on sale last month. August 2012 sales figures for the Buick Enclave were the best among any other month for 2012

Buick dealerships across the country are experiencing the customer brand shift. Dave Arbogast, said that customers are trading in Lexus, BMW, Acura & Mercedes luxury vehicles for Buicks. It’s a huge shift for the brand.

Arbogast said that not only has he seen a shift from other luxury brands to Buick, but also a change in the age of Buick customers. He said his dealership recently sold a Buick Verano to a college graduate.

Brian Sweeney, who is Buick’s vice president of sales and service, said that the brand is healthy and modern. Sweeney said the brand has updated facilities, strong leasing options and a young and growing product line.

He said these attributes are resulting in more young and affluent buyers visiting Buick showrooms.
