Buick Surpasses 1 Million Global Sales for 2016
Selling at a fast pace, the Buick brand just hit another milestone. The brand has sold more than 1,000,000 vehicles between January 1 and September 30. In its history, it has never reached this global goal so quickly. The current rate of growth is 23 percent.
If you’ve been following the re-emergence of Buick, you may not be surprised. The brand is set to claim four consecutive years of record-breaking growth. In the U.S., Buick retail sales have hit an 11-year high. New 2017 models are just now entering dealerships, including the completely redesigned 2017 Buick LaCrosse.
Leading the demand, Buick’s SUVs are sales leaders. The Buick Envision is a case in point. In its second year on the market, the SUV averages only 23 days on dealer lots. The industry average is 65 days. While the Envision has only been on sale in the U.S. since May, the SUV is expected to sell more than 200,000 worldwide in 2016. With the tough competition in the standard SUV market, the Envision really makes a statement for the Buick brand.
Buick’s small SUV, the Encore, has grown every year since its triumphant entry into the market less than four years ago. This September alone there were 7,197 deliveries. Adding to its popularity, the 2017 Encore has arrived with more dash tech than ever before. Standards include an eight-inch touchscreen, 4G LTE Wi-FI and expanded smartphone integration via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Competitors can’t match this suite of connectivity features.
Customer satisfaction may be at the heart of Buick’s rise. JD Power just ranked Buick as the highest in customer satisfaction among mass market brands. The brand ranks third in JD Power’s Dependability Study, and the Buick Verano earned most dependable in its class. For the fourth year in a row, Buick also earned Kelley Blue Book’s “Best Value Luxury Brand”. The auto analysts also awarded the Encore with its Five-Year Cost to Own Award.
Top-notch safety scores are also playing a role in Buick’s remarkable sales growth. New on the scene, the Buick Envision quickly earned recognition as a Top Safety Pick Plus from the Insurance Institute. The only convertible with a five-star federal crash rating is the Buick Cascada. Furthermore, five-star scores have been awarded to every 2016 or 2017 Buick tested by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. This includes the Envision, Encore, Enclave, Verano, Lacrosse and Regal.
With its growing reputation and its remarkable rate of growth, Buick is definitely a brand to watch.
