Buick Verano Receives 5-Star Overall Rating From NHTSABuick has much to celebrate these days. The latest model of the 2013 Buick Verano was awarded an impressive five-star rating for overall safety from The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The high rating is based on a combination of tests from various areas such as rollover resistance, side impact and front impact crash tests.

The Verano is sturdy and safe automobile that comes equipped with many standard safety features such as anti-lock disc brakes with ABS, electronic stability control, ten airbags, OnStar, panic brake override, and a pedal system that collapses to protect the driver’s leg in the event of a crash. Another great safety feature of the 2013 Buick Verano is the construction of the body, which is made of 60 percent reinforced steel. The steel cage is designed to give the driver and passengers optimum protection during a crash. During the tests, the NHTSA concluded that the Verano had about an eleven percent chance of rolling over, which is considered to be superb. According to GM, occupants would be protected by the head curtain airbags that are designed to stay inflated longer and reduce the chance of injury.

Gay Kent, the GM General Director of Vehicle Safety, says car buyers will feel safe riding in the luxurious Buick Verano because of the exceptional crash protection. Kent went on to say that the Buick brand is known for its safety and that the recent five-star overall protection rating is further evidence of Buick’s commitment to manufacturing safe vehicles.
