The GM plant that is located in Lansing Delta Township recently produced the 2,000,000th vehicle since the plant opened in 2006. Two million vehicles produced in nine years is quite an amazing display of production. The 2016 Buick Enclave is a luxury crossover that continues to defy the sales odds. Most vehicles usually begin slowly with sales, peak some years later, and then fall off into obscurity. But there are now more than 500,000 Buick Enclave models on the streets today, making it a rare vehicle in today’s ever-changing automobile market. This local plant produces many Enclave models each year, and it is responsible for many people enjoying the brand.

In addition to the Buick Enclave, the accomplished plant also produces the Chevrolet Traverse, and the GMC Acadia. Managers and other spokespeople for the plant stated that they are proud of the workers for accomplishing such an incredible milestone. Few other plants could have achieved an amazing feat. Producing two million vehicles in nine years speaks to the hard work and dedication of the employees. Their families deserve credit, too. These employees spend a lot of time at work and away from their families so that this GM plant stands above the rest of the pack.

The employees work three shifts, and more than 3,200 people call the plant their place of work. This plant is a tremendous source of pride in the community. The reason for that is because the plant was the first automobile plant in the entire world to receive a prestigious award. The plant is now a Gold Certified Leader in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED). Because of this award, GM has given back to this particular plant with hundreds of millions of dollars in investments. The plant is now larger and even more functional than it was in the past.

This plant’s achievements are part of a larger celebration for GM. GM has now built more than 500 million automobiles all over the world. This makes them the world’s leading automobile manufacturer. The contributions of the Lansing Delta Township plant have helped GM reach new heights as an automaker. The parent company is likely to continue investing in such a successful facility for years to come. The people who work at the plant should be celebrated as some of the most important people in the entire company. Their efforts have paid off enormously for the company.
