GMC August Sales Highest Since 2007

GMC August Sales Highest Since 2007The General Motors Company has had a very rough few years (like so many other automotive companies) with the financial crisis and subsequent bailouts not doing any favors for the company.  With that said, there seems to be a light at the end of the tunnel: GMC has reported that their sales are the highest they have been since 2007.

Sales are up 16 percent according to officials with the company, and August was the eight month in a row of sales growth.

In terms of sales, the Terrain, Yukon, Yukon XL, and Sierra are leading the pack, with the Terrain being especially successful, with sales up 38 percent for the vehicle in August. The Terrain’s success is mostly coming from young families and long-time GMC customers who are both looking for a safe, roomy SUV with above average gas efficiency, all which the Terran offers its customers. Many GMC models come with additional features such as Denali luxury trim, which helps increase sales and satisfaction for customers looking for more luxurious add-ons for their vehicles.

As a truck, the Sierra is selling very quickly at GMC dealers a selling them as they come in. GMC reports that over 145,000 Sierras have been sold since August of 2012, a 24% increase in sales. The Sierra’s success can be attributed to a few factors, including updated design, an excellent advertising campaign, and luxury features of the truck. With the sierra and other GMC models, customer satisfaction is at an all-time high. Earlier in 2013, JD Power and Associates has ranked GMC as number one in the auto industry for customer satisfaction.

“We’re carrying positive sales momentum into 2013, and our product portfolio is stronger than ever with vehicles like the new 2013 Acadia and popular Terrain,” reports Brian Sweeney, the vice president of GMC Sales and Service. “With even more new vehicles in the pipeline, our network of experienced dealers will have the tools it needs for more growth in the new year.”

GMC has finally got some of its previously lost momentum, and it is pushing very hard in the field of advertising, quality, variety and engineering. Because other car companies are receiving similar gains as well, this is a good sign of a downward economy recovering some of its previous strength. With it new found strength and customer satisfaction, GMC can now push hard and continue to bring the sales for another very exciting fiscal year for the company.
