GMC SUVs and Trucks Lead Convoy…
In recent years, GMC has begun a complete overhaul of their vehicle lineup, working hard to deliver the best value to consumers while still maintaining GMC’s high quality and performance. This year the trucks and SUVs have joined the cars in the top-to-bottom overhaul, with some great improvements, and some surprises.
GMC Terrain
First on the list is the GMC Terrain. This crossover vehicle is looking to get into shape, dropping quite a bit of weight and shrinking, as GMC moves the Terrain to its Delta platform. The engine, on the other hand, is growing somewhat, moving from a 2.4 liter to 2.5 liter in the base model, with a hybrid being highly likely.
GMC Sierra
The GMC Sierra is also receiving an update under the hood, looking to give consumers more bang for their buck at the gas pumps. With improved fuel economy in its 5.3 liter V-8, GMC says this new V-8 will have you at at the pumps less than Ford’s F-150. Alternate versions include a 4.3 liter V-6 and a powerful 6.2 liter V-8, due in the fall. The Crew Cab version of the Sierra rolled off the factory lines in May. GMC is going to be replacing the extended cab with a double cab version, and adding in a regular cab later this year.
GMC Acadia
Not as much is known about the GMC Acadia, with its overhaul likely coming in 2016. Odds are good that the 3.6 liter engine will remain, with a new nine-speed transmission coming in 2017. Showing that they play well with others, this front wheel drive transmission will be a joint effort between GMC and Ford.
GMC Yukon
Finally, the GMC Yukon awill be getting some great improvements both inside and out, with GMC’s Infotainment System being added to both models. The Infotainment System is a real game changer, with plenty of features that make managing your car’s entertainment as smooth as the ride itself. Pandora and SiriusXM are linked to your voice with Intellilink, allowing you access to your music at the speed of sound. The Yukon and Suburban willa lso be making the move to the same platform as GMC’s full-sized pickups, including a new 5.3 liter V-8.
GMC is preparing for the future with its revamped lineup of trucks and SUVs. Break out your sunglasses, because with the upgrades and updates that GMC is rolling out to its entire line, their future is looking bright.
