Luxury on a Solid Foundation: The 2017 Buick Encore

Since its debut in 2013, the Buick Encore has given drivers luxury features combined with Buick’s legendary dependability. The 2013 Buick Encore created its own spot in the market by introducing a luxury SUV without the bulk, and the 2017 Buick Encore builds on that solid foundation.

The 2017 Buick Encore has five available trim packages, ranging from the basic-but-thoughtfully-designed 1SB to the luxurious Premium. The Sport Touring, Convenience and Leather packages fall in between, providing buyers with a variety of price points and options.

The 2017 Buick Encore’s updated exterior styling once again proves that this is not your grandmother’s Buick with its winged grille, updated tri-color insignia and optional LED headlights. The body-color heated outside mirrors are practical for driving in all weather conditions, and the chrome exhaust outlet adds just the right amount of sparkle. Other updates in 2017 include an updated 18-inch wheel design and three additional exterior color choices—White Frost Metallic, Black Cherry Metallic and Ebony Twilight Metallic.

Buick improves the Encore’s already luxurious interior in 2017 with top-quality materials and subtle details. The vehicle’s updated instrument panel features a new gauge cluster and a 4.2-inch diagonal driver information center. IntelliLink’s 8-inch diagonal color touch screen allows drivers to connect their Smartphone to the Encore’s entertainment system with Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. OnStar’s 4G LTE Wi-Fi Hotspot comes standard on all 2017 trim packages and allows up to seven devices to connect to high-speed internet in the vehicle. The essential Bose Active Nosie Cancellation technology makes riding in the Encore a luxurious experience.

Because a luxurious interior is obsolete without a powerful driving experience, Buick upgraded the 2017 Encore’s engine to a 1.4-liter turbo with direct injection, which increases the vehicle’s horsepower and torque over previous model years. A six-speed automatic transmission completes the drivetrain. Drivers can choose from front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive versions, both with convenient push button start and keyless door entry.

Buick also thoughtfully updated its safety technologies in the 2017 Encore. Available safety options include rear cross traffic alert, lane departure warning, side blind zone alert and forward collision alert. Other standard safety features include 10 airbags and the StabiliTrak stability system for all-weather driving.
