The system relies on a combination of cameras, GPS data, LiDAR-mapped roads, radar sensors, and an advanced driver attention system. A small, driver-facing camera mounted on the steering column tracks eye movement and head position to confirm your attention is focused on the road. If the system senses the driver isn’t paying attention, it will prompt them to refocus through audible, visual, and haptic alerts. 

Super Cruise can also work with technologies like Adaptive Cruise Control and Automatic Lane Change (on equipped models) to help the vehicle safely navigate the road while reducing fatigue during long trips.
