The All-New 2015 GMC Canyon: Back and Better than Ever

November 23rd, 2013 by

The tides are shifting in the truck world. For many, the time of big, growling trucks with massive engines, enormous towing capacities and huge cargo space is behind them. For today?s more economy minded individual, a truck that is practical, without adding a lot of extra size and cost, is just what they need. The all-new redesigned GMC Canyon is stepping up to fill those requirements. New for 2015, the Canyon offers something most people thought was in the past: a mid-size, affordable, efficient pickup truck.

Efficiency for a New Age

While EPA fuel ratings won?t be available until closer to launch, it is estimated that the Canyon will get somewhere between 25 ? 30 miles per gallon on the highway, and around 21 ? 24 miles per gallon in the city. The best feature for the fuel-conscious individual is the ability to balance work and power when choosing their new truck. With several choices of engine available, the customer will have plenty of flexibility in balancing fuel efficiency and truck power to make sure that their workload is handled to their needs. While the Canyon isn’t ideal for someone who needs constant heavy-duty towing and hauling, it is ideal for someone who needs plenty of cargo space and some towing capabilities without sacrificing at the fuel pump.

Practical for Any Situation

The Canyon is certainly no slouch; GM is predicting that payload and towing ability will be the best among the mid-size pickups. With a projected towing rating of 6,700 pounds, a person would be hard pressed to find a job too difficult for the Canyon to handle. Whether it is taking a load of camping gear down to a remote destination for a fun-filled weekend, or hauling a trailer of tools and equipment to a job site, the Canyon is well equipped to handle nearly any job thrown at it. The Canyon will also feature both 4×4 and 4×2 models, once again allowing the consumer to select just the right balance between practicality and fuel efficiency. When the job for the day is done, and a customer simply wants a straightforward vehicle to get them from A to B, the Canyon transforms into a comfortable, spacious vehicle that has a youthful and capable look to it. The Canyon will handle anything that you throw at it, from runs to the job site, all the way to school runs to grab the kids.

The Canyon will debut in showrooms Fall of 2014, be on the lookout and be sure to stop into a GMC dealership to give one a test drive, and see for yourself just how good a mid-size pickup can be.
