The All-New 2018 Buick Enclave – Functional, Innovative, Elegant

Its A BuickWith its roominess, innovative interior design, ample power, and overall premium quality, the first-generation Buick Enclave was a resounding success. Now the mid-size luxury crossover returns for its second production cycle with the 2018 model. Improving on the attributes that make it a top choice in its class, the 2018 Buick Enclave stands out more than ever before.

The 2018 Enclave gets a new engine in the LFY, a 3.6-liter V6 engine that produces 302 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. It is hooked up to a brand-new 9-speed automatic transmission for smooth, convenience gear shifting. With its powertrain configuration and a factory-installed towing package, expect to be able to tow up to 5,000 lbs; that’s about the size of a 21-foot sport boat. Also, the engine comes with stop/start technology, which means that the engine will automatically shut down when you come to a stop and turn back on when you ease off the gas pedal. That way, a lot more energy is conserved—and fuel economy is improved. As a seven-seater, the 2018 Buick Enclave has more interior space than the models that preceded it. The third row alone provides more passenger room than the Acura MDX, Infiniti QX60, and Audi Q7. And both the second and third rows can be folded to expand cargo room to an astounding 97.6 cubic feet. The Enclave still sports QuietTuning acoustic engineering, which reduces, blocks, and absorbs noise to provide a super-calm cabin. And with a suspension with a MacPherson strut design at the front and five-link design at the back, you’ll also enjoy a ride cushioned from the turbulence of uneven road surfaces.

For entertainment, you’ll enjoy the rich, robust sounds from the 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which incorporates elements like 10-speaker Bose Premium audio, as well as Android Auto and Apple CarPlay for executing functions with your smartphone. Also standard on the new Enclave are a HVAC system with tri-zone automatic control and in-vehicle air freshener and cleaner, a Wi-Fi hotspot for enjoying Internet access at 4G LTE speeds, and a remote keyless entry system with push-button engine start. Standard safety features include a rear vision camera, which is accompanied by a sensor-based rear park assist system; four-wheel power-assisted anti-lock disc brakes; Teen Driver mode to govern the driving habits of younger family members; and a sophisticated seven-airbag system that includes a still-industry-rare front center side airbag. You’d even have the choice of upgrading the rear vision camera with 360-degree vision, or get advanced safety features like safety alert seat, front pedestrian braking, rear cross traffic alert, and lane keep assist with lane departure warning.
